On Monday, July 24th, 2017, the ENERCON-Naperville NAYGN chapter held a volunteering event at the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV) in Wheaton, IL. MSHV is a non-profit organization that provides housing and supportive services for U.S. veterans in Illinois who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder or another mental illness. Over the course of 3½  hours, 6 volunteers (including 4 NAYGN members) pulled hundreds of weeds, mulched, and performed general cleanup at “Tammy’s Trace”, one of MSHV’s transitional houses.

It was a great opportunity to get outdoors and build relationships with NAYGN members outside of the office. Most importantly, the team was able to bond while helping those in need. The veterans marveled at the home’s new appearance, and were very thankful for the volunteers’ hard work.

The ENERCON-Naperville chapter is looking forward to working closely with MSHV in the future. Great work team!
