Cleaning South Carolina’s Palmetto Trail

Members of the VC Summer Nuclear Station chapter of NAYGN, gathered one Saturday to help clean up and repair a local stretch of the beautiful South Carolina Palmetto Trail. Established in 1994 by the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, the trail encourages and inspires active outdoor recreation, land conservation and preservation of historical and cultural landmarks.  It connects state and county parks, national forests, nature preserves, wildlife management areas, Revolutionary War battlefields, Native American paths, urban to rural, swamps to mountains, and much more.

The volunteer’s contributions involved building new fencing and maintaining the surrounding vegetation. By keeping the area safe and accessible, it allows everyone the opportunity to enjoy what the trail has to offer.
