DESCRIPTION:Located 2 km under the Canadian Shield\, SNOLAB is a low-background research facility exploring fundamental questions in modern particle and nuclear physics. With a primary focus on neutrino physics and the hunt for dark matter\, SNOLAB hosts a diverse array of experiments. Dr. Stukel will provide an overview of the research accomplished at SNOLAB\, with particular attention to its nuclear physics program. \nDr. Matt Stukel is a Research Scientist at SNOLAB. He completed his Ph.D. at Queen’s University with research on the KDK project\, later served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Gran Sasso Science Institute\, and now works primarily on the SuperCDMS experiment in the hunt for dark matter. He also supports the CUTE facility for testing cryogenic detector prototypes.

DESCRIPTION:Each quarter\, the NAYGN Engagement Committee will be spotlighting one of NAYGN’s pillars to drive events within this category at the regional level! \nAll chapters are encouraged to participate by doing the following: \n\n\n\nHost a unique\, focused event within the quarter’s category\,\nSubmit metrics via the NAYGN website\, and\nUtilize the NAYGN communications request form to share a post-event recap to the NAYGN communications team.\n\n\n\nSubmissions are due for the Knowledge Transfer and Retention category! \nDrawings will be held for a winning chapter each quarter. There are two ways to enter the contest. \n\nPost Events of the aligned Pillar in the NAYGN Metrics. \n\nThere will be a $250 prize for the winning chapter for the quarter.\nEach metrics entry will be counted as one entry in the drawing.\nThe Engagement team will review submittals to determine if the entry is eligible for the contest.\nChapters must submit their metrics for the associated event within the calendar quarter to enter.\nEnter metrics here: https://naygn.org/chapter-metrics/\n\n\nSocial Media Abstract with Pictures submitted to NAYGN Communications. \n\n$100 dollar prize for the winning chapter for the quarter.\nEach submission counts as one entry in the drawing.\nSubmit Communications Request here: https://forms.office.com/r/5Rj5Mjyy54\nIf you have graphics\, materials\, etc. that you would like to be included\, please email them to communications@naygn.org after you submit your request.\n\n\n\nPrizes are to be utilized for the operation of the chapter (shirts\, children’s books\, chapter lunch\, flags\, etc.) but it is ultimately up to the chapter for the best use.
