Individual Achievement
This award recognizes individual NAYGN members who exemplify the pillars and mission of the organization through consistent exceptional leadership and outstanding participation. Nominees are self-nominated or peer-nominated for their dedication to NAYGN’s objectives and their impactful contributions to NAYGN events and initiatives. This award will only be awarded once in an individual’s career.
Instructions:
Describe the nominee’s exceptional leadership, outstanding participation, and impact on NAYGN. Provide specific examples of how the nominee exemplifies the mission and pillars of NAYGN. Nominees should exhibit qualities such as personal initiative, skill in motivating others, and should have created positive outcomes for the chapter or organization through their influence. It should be evident that they have made significant contributions to NAYGN with their time, resources, and expertise. Any impacts to the community and the nominee’s efforts to make the organization more inclusive and equitable should also be included in the submission. More consideration will be given to submissions that are peer nominated and have additional peer testimonials. NAYGN’s mission is to provide opportunities for a young generation of nuclear enthusiasts to develop strong leadership and professional skills, create lifelong connections, engage and inform the public, and inspire today’s nuclear technology professionals to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The four pillars of NAYGN are Professional Development, Public Information, Networking, and Knowledge Transfer & Retention.
Top Scoring Criteria:
- 4 or more examples of exceptional leadership in all pillars
- Active member at local, regional, and continental level
- Positive impact on the organization
- Positive community impact (community service)
- Peer recognition
Individual Achievement Grading Rubric
Evaluation Process:
Each criterion is scored independently by reviewers. Final scores are averaged across reviewers to ensure fairness and consistency. In the event of a tie, a democratic vote will take place within the Awards Committee. This award may be given out to multiple winners.
