Core Business

You NAYGN Core held one of their biannual meetings May 20 and 21 in Scottsdale, led by our new President Abbey Donahue (see picture).  Here are some highlights:

  • Strategic Plan updates: shaping the vision and direction of NYAGN for the next 5 years.
  • Implementing the 2017 Impact initiative.
  • Special briefing on the ANS K-12 school outreach project, designed to get accurate nuclear resources in nearly half of the public schools in America.  Want to know more? E-mail us.
  • Planned winter Core meeting to coincide with the Atlantic Regional Event (Oct 27-29) in DC.
  • Recognized officers completing their terms (Monica Beistline, Bobby Ashworth).
  • Two Core members balanced significant time zone differences, with Treasurer Steve Ward calling in from UAE and PI Chair Chris Wolfe calling in from South Carolina.

 

Children's Book is Coming

Duke Energy's NAYGN chapter is in the final stages of releasing a nuclear-themed children's book.  Core NAYGN is going to distribute thousands of these to the chapters.  More to come!  Here's a sneak peak at sketches for two of the pages.
