NAYGN Carolinas Beach Weekend | June 10-11, 2022 | Wilmington, NC | Registration Closes at 5pm on Wed, 6/8!

Announcing the return of NAYGN Carolinas Beach Weekend, to be held June 10-11 in Wilmington, NC! This event will include professional development and networking activities, including a day of fun on Wrightsville Beach!

This event is sponsored by GE-Hitachi Nuclear and Duke Energy-Brunswick and is open to members of the Carolinas region of NAYGN. Reach out to carolinas@naygn.org for more information.

Registration is now open! Please register no later than Wednesday, June 8th to allow time for catering arrangements. Those interested in a GE-Hitachi Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing Operations tour should register ASAP (by Wednesday, June 1) to allow time for security processing.

Friday, 6/10 | 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm | Join your NAYGN peers for a tour of the GE-Hitachi Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing Operations, hosted by the GE-H chapter of NAYGN. Advance registration was required by Wednesday, June 1 for security screening purposes.

Friday, 6/10 | 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Join the NAYGN Chapters of GE-Hitachi Nuclear and Duke Energy-BNP as well as other peers from the Carolinas Region for a networking and professional development event at Bodega Market! Presentations include “Finding Joy in Your Career” by Seth Smiley-Humphries and “Chainsaws & SMRs Towards Market Opportunities” by Eric Loewen. Catering is provided by GE-H NAYGN and +1s are welcome. Advance registration is required for catering purposes.

Saturday, 6/11 | 9:00 am – 5:00 pm | Join the NAYGN Chapters of GE-Hitachi Nuclear and Duke Energy-BNP as well as other peers from the Carolinas Region for a fun day at Wrightsville Beach! A private air-conditioned event room is reserved for NAYGN at Shell Island Resort. Feel free to use the space to store your personal items and to take a break from the heat.

Lunch will be served inside the event space (provided by the Duke Energy-BNP chapter of NAYGN). A cooler of water and lunch will be provided, but any other snacks or drinks are on you. Although we don’t have access to the swimming pool, we do have access to the on-site Tiki Bar, the beach volleyball court, and private access to the beach.

Advance registration is required for catering purposes. Please carpool as parking is limited (20 spots for 50+ attendees)

Travel Arrangements:

NAYGN funding for transportation/lodging expenses is not provided for this event. Out of town guests will have to pay for this out of pocket unless their individual site/chapter leadership has agreed to fund travel. Contact info will be shared between out of town guests so that a carpool or shared lodging can be arranged for those who answer “Yes” to registration question #9. Note that many companies have discounts or negotiated hotel rates for employee leisure travel.
