NAYGN Webinar — SNOLAB: Canada’s Deep Underground Physics Laboratory

Located 2 km under the Canadian Shield, SNOLAB is a low-background research facility exploring fundamental questions in modern particle and nuclear physics. With a primary focus on neutrino physics and the hunt for dark matter, SNOLAB hosts a diverse array of experiments. Dr. Stukel will provide an overview of the research accomplished at SNOLAB, with particular attention to its nuclear physics program.

Dr. Matt Stukel is a Research Scientist at SNOLAB. He completed his Ph.D. at Queen’s University with research on the KDK project, later served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Gran Sasso Science Institute, and now works primarily on the SuperCDMS experiment in the hunt for dark matter. He also supports the CUTE facility for testing cryogenic detector prototypes.
