This award recognizes the sustaining efforts of an individual or group that best exemplifies the mission of NAYGN to prepare and plan for the future of the young generation in the field of nuclear science and technology in an innovative or unique way. This award is intended to highlight large scale achievements and initiatives that benefit the Continental NAYGN organization.
This award is chosen by the Board of Directors and may not be awarded every year.
Clarification and Criteria:
- Fundamental Change
- Demonstrates significant improvements or innovative approaches that benefit the entire NAYGN organization.
- The initiative should represent a new direction or significant shift for NAYGN, contributing to its growth and evolution.
- Non-Routine Nature of Activities
- These activities must be unique and stand out from regular, routine tasks within NAYGN.
- Activities must require significant time, effort, or innovation.
- Sustained Improvement
- Demonstrated long-term impact of the initiative on NAYGN’s operations or mission
- Proven results of the improvement over a longer period of time to back up the sustainability of the initial implementation.
- Organizational Growth
- The activity must contribute to the overall growth of NAYGN. This may include increased membership, expanded reach, or enhanced visibility of the organization.
Suggested Nomination Guidelines:
- Proven Results: Provide specific examples of sustained results. This can be demonstrated through qualitative examples such as metrics, independent studies or reports, feedback, testimonials, case studies, or benchmarking. These examples should clearly show the long-term impact and effectiveness of the initiative.
- Uniqueness of Activities: Explain why the initiative is above and beyond regular activities that a member or group would typically participate in. Highlight what makes this initiative unique and how it stands out from routine tasks. Emphasize the innovative approaches or significant improvements introduced by the initiative.
- Growth: Highlight any specific milestones or achievements that demonstrate growth. This could include successful events, partnerships, or new programs that have been implemented as a result of the initiative. Provide evidence of how the initiative has contributed to the overall growth of NAYGN, such as increased membership, expanded reach, or enhanced visibility of the organization.

Scoring Guidelines:
- Total possible score: 25 points
- Nominations scoring below an average of 4 will not be considered.
Evaluation Process:
- Each criterion is scored independently by members of the NAYGN Board of Directors.
- Final scores are averaged across reviewers to ensure consistency and fairness.
