Individual Achievement Award

This award recognizes individual NAYGN members who exemplify the pillars and mission of the organization through consistent exceptional leadership and outstanding participation. Nominees are self-nominated or peer-nominated for their dedication to NAYGN’s objectives and their impactful contributions to NAYGN events and initiatives. This award will only be awarded once in an individual’s career.

Clarification and Criteria:

  1. Pillars and Mission of NAYGN
    • NAYGN’s mission is to provide opportunities for a young generation of nuclear enthusiasts to develop strong leadership and professional skills, create lifelong connections, engage and inform the public, and inspire today’s nuclear technology professionals to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
    • The pillars of NAYGN include Professional Development, Public Information, Networking & Mentorship, Knowledge Transfer.
  2. Exceptional Leadership
    • Demonstrated leadership in advancing NAYGN’s mission, including leading initiatives, organizing events, mentoring members, or driving the chapter’s strategic objectives.
    • Exhibiting qualities such as initiative, decision-making, motivating others, and influencing positive outcomes for the chapter or organization.
  3. Outstanding Participation
    • Consistent, active involvement in NAYGN events, such as volunteering, attending meetings, contributing to projects, or supporting chapter activities.
    • Making significant contributions to the success of NAYGN events, initiatives, or objectives, whether through time, resources, or expertise.

Suggested Nomination Guidelines:

  • Exemplifying the Pillars and Mission: Provide specific examples of how the nominee exemplifies the mission and pillars of NAYGN through their actions and leadership.
  • Exceptional Leadership or Participation: Detail the nominee’s contributions to NAYGN, highlighting how they have gone above and beyond in their leadership or participation. Include specific accomplishments or initiatives led by the nominee.
  • Measurable Impact: If possible, provide evidence of the nominee’s impact, such as outcomes from events they led or feedback from peers or colleagues.

Scoring Guidelines:

  • Total possible score: 25 points

Evaluation Process:

  • Each criterion is scored independently by reviewers.
  • Final scores are averaged across reviewers to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Several recipients can be awarded an Individual Achievement Award.
