The Sequoyah/Corporate chapter of North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) held a lunch and learn event with leaders at Sequoyah who advanced in their career at a young age. Panel members included Sequoyah Plant Manager Preston Pratt, Sequoyah Maintenance Director Matt Rasmussen and Sequoyah Licensing Manager Erin Henderson. Each shared experiences from their career path and the important things they learned along the way. They encouraged the NAYGN members to step out of their comfort zone and take opportunities as they come, even if it is not what they would have anticipated as their next career move.

In closing, Pratt encouraged the NAYGN members not to limit themselves. “You don’t know how much influence you have on the organization and those around you. People tend to limit themselves. I didn’t learn most of what I did from books. I learned from taking opportunities. Don’t be short sighted about where you want to be. Put yourself in situations to grow and really stretch yourself to find what your limit is.”
