NAYGN West 2025: Diablo Canyon Tour, Panels, and Connection at the Core

The 2025 North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) West Regional Conference successfully brought together nuclear professionals in the West Region in San Luis Obispo, California. Hosted by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, attendees toured Diablo Canyon Power Plant, visiting the turbine building, the fire department facility, the training simulator, the marina, and more!

The first day concluded at Bang the Drum Brewery with networking, trivia, and enjoyable social interaction. Day 2 offered insightful panels and workshops covering small modular reactors (SMRs), artificial intelligence, and career development. An impactful breakout session facilitated regional collaboration, enabling chapters to collectively assess their strengths and strategies.

The conference concluded at The BA Start Arcade, providing attendees an enjoyable and competitive environment to strengthen personal and professional connections.

Overall, the event successfully combined educational opportunities with social engagement, reinforcing the West Region’s ongoing leadership in the nuclear sector.
