  • Join nuclear experts on March 13 (today)at 11am EDT for a Reddit Ask Me Anything session on nuclear energy. http://www.reddit.com/r/science Multiple nuclear experts from the University of California Berkeley and the University of Wisconsin will host Ask Me Anything about Nuclear Science and Technology. A Ask Me Anything is an online question and answer session where people post questions in advance. These questions are then voted on by members of the public. During the live portion, experts answer the most popular questions. As the session proceeds, attendees can write comments on a message board that a moderator will incorporate. What develops is a large forum for communicating information.  The point of contact is Rachel Slaybaugh at UC Berkley slaybaugh@berkeley.edu.

 

  • Registration for the NAYGN Professional Development conference is now open! The conference will be held in Scottsdale, AZ in May 18 - 20, 2014.  Click here to register and find out more information! Featuring a Key Note address from Ted Nordhaus, Chairman of the Breakthrough Institute.

 

  • The nuclear energy industry has launched the “Nuclear Matters” public affairs campaign to inform key audiences about nuclear energy’s full value proposition and to raise awareness of the economic challenges to nuclear energy that threaten those benefits.  Check out the campaign and follow activity at the website – NuclearMatters.com – and on Twitter: @nuclear_matters. NEI encourages all industry members to engage in this campaign as state-based events are scheduled in the coming months.

 

 

Get Involved!

  • Do you have an idea that could revolutionize the nuclear energy industry? If yes, you should compete in NAYGN’s 2014 Innovation Competition. Young professionals will have the opportunity to vet their ideas with their peers and industry experts at the upcoming NAYGN PD Workshop. The inventor of the best idea will be awarded an opportunity to pitch their concept to all US Chief Nuclear Officers at an upcoming meeting. This is a great opportunity for young professionals. http 

 

  • The Awards Committee is looking for volunteers to help with the 2014 awards process by reading nominations and voting for the winners.  The time commitment is from now through March 31.    If you are looking for a way to get more involved with NAYGN, this is an excellent opportunity!  For more information, please contact awards@naygn.web.zuul.work.

  • Today at 3:00p.m. EST  NEI and the nuclear energy industry are launching a new multi-year advocacy campaign in the coming weeks. Developed at the direction of NEI's Executive Committee, the campaign is to focus on nuclear energy's value proposition, building awareness of the industry's market challenges and the consequences of more plant closures. As members of NAYGN and U.S. WIN, you are invited to participate in a webinar hosted by NEI, featuring Scott Peterson, Senior Vice President of Communications, to learn more about the advocacy campaign and how you can get involved.
