Cool events: A speaking contest with the winner and runner-up winning $1,000 and $500 respectively, a training on professional workplace etiquette, and a training on the PE license process.
Carolinas Region
V.C. Summer

Notable: 4,000 non-members reached with public information efforts
Cool events: After the devastating floods in South Carolina, members came together and made donations to the Harvest Hope Food bank, directly benefiting 300 non-members. Organized a ‘PI Blitz’ where 55 members visited area schools over the course of one day in order to discuss nuclear energy and educate middle/high school students. This event alone attributed to 3,800 non-members being reached in a single day.
Midwest Region
Exelon West

Notable: Chapter organized and participated in approximately 150 Public Information events (2006 hours) including giving tours and presentations for grade schools, high schools, college students, professional organizations, and community groups
Cool events: The Exelon West members performed a variety of activities to raise money and donate their time to organizations like the Boys and Girls Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, JDFR (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund), and the ALS Association.
Northeast Region
Exelon East

Notable: 100% increase in hours compared to 2014 metrics
Cool events: One particular favorite of the chapter is Calvert Cliff’s annual Dragon Boat Races! Additionally, Peach Bottom hosted its annual Fitness Day, which consisted of over 80 individuals participating in a 5k run/walk and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The event also raised over $5,000 for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of York County.
Southeast Region
TVA- Watts Bar
Number of members: 50-100
Total hours: 1082
Notable: Developed an excellence action plan that would promote, demonstrate, and sustain NAYGN excellence throughout the site, fleet, and nuclear industry. The chapter provided its members with twice the amount of professional development opportunities, which resulted in over a 100 more member hours than the previous year
Cool events: New Employee Buddy Program: In the TVA on boarding guide for managers, it is suggested that a buddy be selected for the new employee. Chapter members volunteered to fill the role as a buddy to new hires. To shape the development and experiences of the new employees entering Watts Bar, NAYGN can acts as a “sounding board” that offers encouragement as new employees acclimate to their new environment. The buddy program provides several benefits to the site, such as employee engagement and ownership of site performance. By providing this service, NAYGN is investing in the future of the chapter, TVA, and the nuclear industry.
West Region
Palo Verde

Notable: The group closed out the year with a record 300 active members.
Cool events: Placed an emphasis on safety during 2015 and organized a Hand Safety Campaign at Palo Verde when it was identified hand safety injuries were the most common type of injury on-site. The campaign included data collection regarding glove use, a dynamic learning activity demonstrating the importance of hands and an event to get workers focused on hand safety before Palo Verde’s fall refueling outage. The campaign was successful in reducing the number of hand injuries during the second half of 2015. The organization also had a strong impact on the local community through activities such as Ronald McDonald House and Climb to Conquer Cancer.
