AREVA TN partnered with NEI, MPR, and other engineering firms in the Washington, D.C. area to represent nuclear energy at the 3rd Annual USA Science & Engineering Festival (USASEF).

April 23rd—25th , 2014

What is the universe made of? What do magic tricks and hip-hop have to do with math? What will be the next engineering breakthrough? These were just some of the questions that were worth finding out at this year’s annual USASEF, held in Washington, D.C.

AREVA TNs NAYGN chapter, in partnership with NEI, MPR Associates, and other nuclear engineering firms in the DC area, were on-hand in support of this years USASEF which hosted an estimated 325,000 students, to represent nuclear energy at the largest celebration of STEM in the nation!

Students from K-12 and parents, along with over 5,000 teachers and 3,000 STEM professionals from throughout the U.S. were in attendance. The AREVA TN NAYGN members took part in “conducting” hands-on demonstrations of how nuclear power works, how energy is created and the concept of electrical circuitry.

This opportunity was an “electrifying” event to participate in to re-invigorate the interest of our nation’s youth in STEM with the likes of Bill Nye The Science Guy, Dr. Michio Kaku, Mike Rowe, They Might Be Giants, Amanda Boxtel, SSG Travis Mills and many others who were in attendance at the USASEF.
