2025 Drawing Contest Submission Deadline
PURPOSE
Welcome to the NAYGN’s Annual Drawing Contest, open from January 13th to February 28th! This years’ theme is “NuClear: NEW Nuclear for Clear Air Energy! “We are looking for Local Chapters to take the lead in hosting a Drawing Contest in your area. Please refer to the 2025 Drawing Contest Materials on the NAYGN website/PI Committee page for details about the drawing contest (including the 2025 Drawing Contest flier, contest Introduction Letter template, and PowerPoint presentation). A Drawing Contest Awards Panel will select 5 students as winners to receive a STEM kit of their choosing from the options below. Winners will be selected based on creativity, style, along with diversity in age and region. Winners will be limited to one student per class.
BACKGROUND
As one of NAYGN’s most successful activities, the Drawing Contest educates 4th and 5th grade students about the wonders of nuclear science and technology. NAYGN members from across the continent volunteer to give educational presentations at local schools. Students are encouraged to submit drawings inspired by these presentations.
LOGISTICS
- Theme:” NuClear: NEW Nuclear for Clear Air Energy!” Chapters are encouraged to adapt the provided PowerPoint presentation to highlight specific nuclear applications or any possibilities for new nuclear in your community.
- Contestants: 4th and 5th Graders
- Submission: Email your chapter’s top 10 drawings (in PDF format) with child’s info (and waivers) to: schooloutreach@naygn.org
- Feel free to include any pictures of your classroom visits.
- Required Information:
- From contestants:
- On the back of each drawing, provide a short description of the drawing and list Name, School, City, State/Province, Grade, and Teacher’s Name.
- From chapter leads:
- Chapter lead name/email
- Total number of students who participated in the presentations
- Total number of entries received
- From contestants:
Deadline: Entries must be emailed by Friday, February 28th, 2025** Any entries that are missing this information, and any submittals that do not include chapter information as specified, will not be considered for awards.
A Drawing Contest Awards Panel will select 5 students as winners. The official winners will be announced on March 31, 2025. The announcement will be made via NAYGN socials media and on our website. NAYGN Members are welcome to join the panel, which will select five winners based on diversity of region, age, and artistic style. To ensure fairness, prizes will be limited to one student per class. Winners can choose one from the following list of Prize Options:
- Butterfly Edufields: Motor Machines
- Snap Circuits: Green Energy
- Doctor Jupiter: My First Science Kit
