  • Trying to figure out what your chapter should do for The NAYGN Impact initiative? Check out this list of specific ideas!  Email your chapter's impact goal to before August 31st using the form on the website.
  • Congratulations to the Waterford 3 chapter for being the first to submit their ideas for the NAYGN Impact! They will be creating informative and entertaining videos that highlight their site's four core platforms to increase personnel awareness of the site focus areas and uplift and increase site moral and sense of community.

  • The House and Senate have packed up and headed home for the summer to spend time in their district offices meeting with constituents one-on-one and hosting town hall meetings. A town hall or public meeting is an important opportunity to seek out your elected official(s) and ask questions about policy issues that affect your community and your state. To find out if your legislator plans to host any public meetings this month, go to his or her official website, contact the district office, or sign up for their email announcements.

  • Registration for the Southeast Regional Conference August 30-31st in New Orleans is now open.
  • We want to tailor our upcoming Delivering the Nuclear Promise webinar to the things you'd like to see. To help us with that, we're asking you to take this quick survey before August 18th.
  • Register for August 17th, 12pm EST for a webinar hosted by the Nuclear Advocacy Network entitled, "Exercising Your Nuclear Advocacy Voice." This will look at advocacy from a broad perspective and then delve deeper into what works and what doesn't work when it comes to advocating for nuclear energy issues.
  • Save the date for the Carolinas Regional Event #3 September 16th-17th in Columbia, SC. Contact with any questions.
  • Save the date for the Northeast/Atlantic Joint Regional Conference September 22nd-24th in Berwick, PA. Contact if you'd like to join the planning efforts.
  • Save the date for the Mid-West Regional Conference December 1st-2nd at the DTE headquarters in Detroit, MI. Contact if you'd like to join the planning efforts.
  • Want to make an impact with your state and local government with minimal effort and cost? Participate in NAYGN’s 3rd annual Post Card Push Day!  Our Government Outreach Committee will send local chapters a post card for your members to fill out and drop in the mail on October 13th.  Postage and post card costs are covered by the national NAYGN Chapter so it couldn’t get any easier!  Legislators will receive a mass flooding of post cards during National Nuclear Science week (October 17-21) to raise awareness about the benefits of nuclear power.  Email to order your 2016 post cards.

  • Are you a veteran? Check out this newly formed Veterans in Energy  Veterans in Energy (VIE) provides transition, retention, and professional development support to the growing population of military veterans who have chosen energy careers.  They were formed similar to us, but for veterans.  Their inaugural conference is scheduled for October 13th and 14th in Washington, DC.  Complete this survey if you're interested in receiving more information and follow them on Twitter @energyveterans.
