Thanks to your tireless advocacy, we have a major victory to celebrate: the preservation of critical nuclear energy tax credits in the 2025 budget reconciliation bill, also called the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Your voice made a difference!
Despite some changes to clean energy incentives, your efforts helped ensure that American nuclear energy remained a priority in the final legislation. Here’s what we achieved together:
✅ Section 45U – Zero-Emission Nuclear Power Production Credit
This credit, vital for supporting existing nuclear facilities, was preserved. It continues to provide support for existing nuclear facilities that deliver reliable, clean electricity.
✅ Section 45Y – Clean Electricity Production Credit
Nuclear projects that begin construction by December 31, 2033, remain fully eligible. The final bill also adds a new eligibility pathway under the energy community bonus specifically for nuclear projects.
✅ Section 48E – Clean Electricity Investment Credit
Similarly, nuclear projects remain fully eligible if they begin construction by the 2033 deadline, encouraging investment in next-generation reactors and infrastructure.
