2025 Carolinas Regional Recap

The 2025 NAYGN Carolinas Regional Conference took place October 23–24 in Charlotte, NC and was hosted by the Duke Energy NAYGN chapter. The event brought together young nuclear professionals from across the Carolinas for a day of professional development, technical discussion, and cross chapter engagement.
Organized by NAYGN Carolinas Regional Lead Kaitlin Milde, the conference included several structured networking opportunities at local venues. These sessions gave attendees time to connect, share experiences, discuss career paths, and exchange ideas on what’s working within their chapters and organizations.



Industry presentations focused on timely topics such as nuclear regulations, current technology applications, and emerging innovations in the nuclear sector. Speakers from Duke Energy and Westinghouse Electric Company shared perspectives from their regulatory, technical, and industry experience, sparking thoughtful discussion throughout the day.
Additional activities included speed networking and open chapter discussions, allowing attendees to connect with peers from organizations such as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Duke Energy, GE Vernova, Dominion, Westinghouse, S&ME, Global Laser Enrichment, Sargent & Lundy, and others. Chapters also shared updates on recent initiatives and upcoming events, highlighting the work happening across the region.
The day concluded with a trivia session that offered a relaxed setting for continued conversation and networking. Overall, the Carolinas Regional Conference provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing, helping strengthen connections across chapters while supporting the professional growth of NAYGN members.
