Recap: NAYGN-UNB Nuclear Presentations
Submitted by Camila Drost, Co-Lead NAYGN University of New Brunswick
NAYGN UNB spent the months of February, March, and April presenting an introduction to nuclear energy at local middle and high schools, as well as a university class. In total, the program reached over 100 students across grades 6–12 and at the university level.
Students learned the fundamentals of nuclear energy and nuclear power generation while also providing a path to engage directly with presenters and older students. These interactions gave students an opportunity to ask questions about these fundamental topics as well as both nuclear research and industry growth.
This event aligns closely with the organization’s engagement pillar for public information. It allowed members to share their passion for the nuclear field while helping to educate students on the complexities and opportunities within the industry!
