NAYGN Canada Pedals to the Top in the 2025 Ride for Heart Challenge

Did you know that one person dies in Canada every 5 minutes from heart disease, stroke or vascular cognitive impairment? More than 3.5 million people across Canada of all ages, ethnicities and genders are living with these conditions, but the 2025 Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart throughout the month of June raised over $591,000 to fuel scientific discovery and collaborations in support of critical heart disease and stroke research.

In June 2025, the NAYGN Canada team proudly took part in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s annual Ride for Heart Challenge, showcasing not only their commitment to health and wellness but also their dedication to making a difference in their communities.

This year’s initiative was spearheaded by Nathen Sebaratnam from the Westinghouse Canada NAYGN Chapter, who brought together chapters from across the country to form a united NAYGN Canada team. The result was an inspiring display of teamwork, perseverance, and generosity.

The team’s efforts paid off in a big way:

• 🥇 1st Place in kilometers logged across their industry category – 4179.67 km logged

• 🥉 3rd Place in fundraising across their industry category - $705 raised

Participants from multiple Canadian chapters joined forces, logging hundreds of kilometers through cycling, walking, and running, all while raising awareness and funds for heart disease and stroke research. Their collective energy and enthusiasm not only brought them to the top of the leaderboard but also strengthened bonds across chapters and regions.

This achievement highlights the spirit of NAYGN—young professionals coming together to support meaningful causes, promote wellness, and lead by example in their communities. More information on the NAYGN Canada contributions and the Ride for Heart Challenge can be found on the Heart and Stroke Foundation website.

Congratulations to everyone who participated and supported the Ride for Heart Challenge!
